This is a very useful course for all working with sexually abused children in a therapeutic context. Each delegate will be given a toolkit containing useful techniques for this process. Click on flyer below for more information.

  Children who Touch or Abuse other Children Sexually 25 – 27 August 2010  
  Approximately 50% of all sexual abuse that happens to children is perpetrated by other children. We need to begin to unpack this issue and find helpful ways to intervene to ensure that this behaviour does not become a pattern that children take into their adult life.

Day One: Understanding and assisting Children who molest other children    - Seminar for all people working with children:

Day two and three: The SPARK programme, developed by Dr Shaheda Omar of The Teddy Bear Clinic for Abused Children, presented by Edith Kriel: assessment and therapy with children who molest each other - workshop for therapists

  Family Play Therapy 16 September 2010   
 

When a child is traumatised, so too is the family. Yet, we often pay attention only to the child, and do not assist parents in knowing how to deal with the trauma and better support their child. This workshop focussed on family lay therapy in the context of trauma and how to use these techniques for both assessment and therapeutic purposes.

    This 2.5 day workshop assists social workers and psychologists to be able to conduct an assessment regarding abuse, with particular emphasis on sexual abuse.
